It's Book Fair time!!
When my son decided to start homeschooling in 2nd grade I knew I had to jump into organizing local field trips and of course the First Friday of the month roller skating at T&S in Canon. With the emphasis on the things we do being local and inclusive. One of the things I thought would be neat would be to have the book fair available for homeschoolers too! This is something I remembered from school and one of the things I enjoyed when he was at North Hart. I put it out there to everyone and the response was overwhelming that so many would love this opportunity for their kids!
It's crazy how when you put your mind into it, you can achieve these things. I was thinking of this as I was unboxing books today how this totally is coming together! This is actually happening!! And it's so exciting!
Thank you to The Lake Hartwell Family Arcade, RompARoo, EveryBODY Fitness and Contemporary Martial Arts for putting out flyers for everyone to come by and pick up. It's been fun distributing them!
I gotta tell you...unboxing and setting up books today was fun and I sooo want all the books!
Thank you to the volunteers that will be joining us this week to help host the fair so that we are not living there this week! LOL Feel free to bring me coffee or chocolate!
Thank you to the Town of Bowersville for letting us use your Community Hall to host this event too!
Hours are M and T from 10am to 2pm and Th and Fri from 3pm-8pm. My goal is to accommodate homeschoolers and those in public school or working parents with spreading the hours out. Wednesday we will get our restock order so if we are out of anything on Tuesday I can order more and have it ready for you on Thursday.
Please do me a favor though, if we are busy, please remember this is totally a volunteer opportunity for the community to enjoy and we appreciate your patience! After all, it's not every day we run a book fair with a Point of Sale System and track inventory! We can take cash, check and MC/Visa
Thank you!
PS Who knows, if this goes well, we just might have to host a K, 5th and 12th grade graduation this year!
