It's Memorial Day Weekend!!! 

First of all, Thank you to all of the Military families that have lost a loved one. 

If you get a moment, there are 69 crosses displayed on the lawn of the Hart County Courthouse that represent a Hart County Citizen that gave their lives for the freedoms that we have today. Take a moment to walk by them and give thanks and teach your children what this means. 

If you are in Franklin County, the American Legion Post in Lavonia, has crosses with the names of all fallen Franklin County soldiers displayed on them. 

Saturday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm:  Saturday is the 16th Annual Cars and Guitars Festival Sponsored by McGee Heating and Air and Presented by the Hart County Chamber. The event is free and open to the public, located on the square in downtown Hartwell. You will be able to view over 100 classic, vintage cars and visit local vendors. The Chamber is doing a 50/50 raffle as well as baskets you can win. You can vote on over 100 classic cars and there will be a people's choice award as well. Food Vendors, Kids Korner, Craft Vendors and more!

(While you are downtown head over to Allafairs Tea Room, they will be open Saturday from 12-5pm) 

Sunday from 4pm-10pm: is the Hartwell Lakeside Music Festival benefiting the Hart County Humane Society. You will need tickets for this and it's slightly cheaper if purchased in advance. Their info is: Party With A Purpose to save the lives of shelter animals at Hartwell Lakeside Resort 330 Hart State Park Rd Hartwell, GA 30643

Also this weekend and on Memorial Day go check out the three year anniversary of the Lake Hartwell Wildlife Safari. Their food bags will only be $3 in honor of their third anniversary. Coming soon to the safari is a Budgie's area and in a few months there will be Monkeys!! It is so much fun to drive around the safari and see all these exotic animals right here in Hartwell. They are open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 - 5 pm & Special Monday Memorial Day Hours from 10 - 4 pm! (Weather Permitting)

Farm 328 is also celebrating Memorial Day Weekend. Friday & Saturday they are selling 50% off ALL PLANTS (vegetable, herbs, flowers, & fruit bushes) Friday Hours are 12-6 and Saturday from 10-4 Their address is: 2760 Gumlog Road Martin, Georgia 30557
