NEW DATE: Collecting Donations for Hart County First Responders

Would you like to make a donation?

September 3, 2022

Update to story! Due to Rain, event has been moved to September 24th! There is more time for you to donate a door prize!

Next Saturday, Sept 10th, from 10-4 the First Responders of Hart County (Sheriff, City PD, City and County Fire, EMS, 911 Dispatch and Lifeflight) will all gather for a day of fun with their families at the Elberton Highway Park. This is a private event for them to enjoy with their fellow First Responder families. There will be Foam Canons, Bounce Houses, Water Slides, Face Painting, etc. The Home Depot will come out with a kids Maker Station. So many organizations have come together to provide food for everyone: WalMart, Quality Food, Ingles, Jeff Brown Country Financial, Woodmen Life, WillaDeans, Backstreet, Whaley Construction, Faith Lutheran Church, Flat Shoals, First United Methodist, Hart County High School Culinary Department, Wendy the Bread Lady, Everything Internet, ChickFilA, Store on the Wheel and Teresa Massey, Independent Wellness Consultant. There is still room for more food sponsors as well as groups that might like to host an activity,

The biggest way the community can contribute is to help provide door prizes. We have about 15 door prize donations so far but would love to add to that by collecting gift cards for dinners, grills, clothing, games, etc that we can raffle off to responders and their family members. We are very grateful that the VFW is donating 100 coloring books and crayons for the children that will be in attendance. If you have anything you'd like to donate, please bring it to the Hart County Chamber of Commerce located at 10 South Carolina St, Hartwell, GA 30643 anytime between Tuesday-Friday this week.

Thank you to The Farmer's Daughter for your door prize donation! I'm sure some girl will enjoy winning this bakeware set!

Lets shower our first responders with some love!
